Dorf: das Wort f\u00e4llt immer wieder und es zeugt von einer Identit\u00e4t, die sich die Vinnhorsterinnen und Vinnhorster auch durch die Eingemeindung vor 42 Jahren nicht nehmen lie\u00dfen. F\u00e4hrt man auf den Hauptverkehrsstra\u00dfen durch Vinnhorst, kann man einen d\u00f6rflichen Charakter zun\u00e4chst kaum nachvollziehen. Die Bebauung mutet st\u00e4dtisch an, die Industrieanlagen jenseits des Kanals verst\u00e4rken den Eindruck. Doch je tiefer man in die Wohnsiedlungen kommt, umso pers\u00f6nlicher wird der Eindruck. Einfamilienh\u00e4user und Doppelh\u00e4user dominieren das Bild, adrette Vorg\u00e4rten zeigen sich. Kommt man auf den zentralen Platz, am Rathaus, hat man das Gef\u00fchl, noch in einer eigenst\u00e4ndigen Gemeinde zu sein.
